Bio
​
Nathan Luchina is a screenwriter and director with a degree in Film from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), in Brazil. During his graduation, he co-wrote and directed the suspense short film "Under the Scorpion Sign", which received awards in specialized national festivals, such as the P.O.E. Fantastic Film Festival - Honorable Mention, and the University Film and Audiovisual Festival Assimetria - Best Fiction Film.
Before pursuing his studies in screenwriting in Germany, he worked as an assistant director on short films, as well as a number of documentary projects. In 2023, he completed his MA at the ifs - Internationale Filmschule Köln, with a focus on Serial Storytelling.
There, Nathan participated in the creation of three original series projects in script rooms, two of which were selected for festival pitching. The first, titled "The Inn Between," was presented at the Cologne Film Festival (FFCGN, 2022).

The second project, "Sounds From Nowhere," was selected as parted of the Writers Vision Pitch, and presented in June 2023 at the Seriencamp Festival, also in Cologne. Nathan is currently working on his first original series, "Leviathan," created under the mentorship of veteran German screenwriter Joachim Friedmann. In the industry, Nathan worked at the Berlinale Series Market, the European Film Market initiative dedicated to all aspects of serialized content.

Nathan's stories usually touch on political struggles, and existential questions - with a touch of dark humor.
